Sayville Greek Restaurant – Greek Pork Chop Recipe

How to make Greek Pork Chops sounds a little complex. I wish I could say it was my recipe but I’m afraid it had been inspired by a very special friend. Bert wasn’t Greek but he knew about Greek food and love that type cooking. Bert would be a great friend and an accomplished home cook. With a mutual admiration for Frugal Meals. To us Frugal means while using ingredients fully with out waste. Enjoying every morsel without adding to the compost bin. Now Roll-up your sleeves, wash both hands, and get cooking.

Greek Pork Chops

Ingredients:

4 pork chops about 1 ” thick (Loin chops are the best but others work too)

1 Tablespoon Garlic Powder

1 Tablespoon dried Oregano

1 Tablespoon dried Basil

1 teaspoon Sea Salt

teaspoon Black Pepper

2 Tablespoon olive oil (EVOO)

2 Tablespoon lemon juice (bottle is alright)

4-6oz of Feta cheese crumbled (Blue cheese works inside a pinch)

cup Kalamata olives (pitted)

Directions:

Indoor cooking: Inside a large heavy skilet put the essential olive oil, rub spices into chops cook 7-9 minuets per side put on platter to rest and add fresh lemon juice, cheese, and olives. Outdoor Cooking: Omit Essential olive oil (EVOO) Light fire, rub pork chops with spices. When coals are ash white or when propane gas grill has reached med-high temp put meat on grill and cover. 7-9 minuets per side. Put on platter to rest and drizzle fresh lemon juice, sprinkle cheese, and place olives on the top. Serve with a smile..

Notes:

This may work well with Rib Eye steaks too. Stick to the same recipe replacing pork chops with thick Rib Eye steaks. I’ve never used it but I’ll bet it would use Lamb Chops too.

I like to serve a Greek Salad with this particular meal. Greens, Kalamata olives, tiny peppers, feta cheese along with a special dressing. Lemon juice, vinegar, EVOO and garlic and sweet&low…

The Queen Goddess prefers Garlic Toast but occasionally I love a warm pita bread with this particular.

OK the recipe has become yours. Please make it soon you deserve an excellent meal with a special dessert. Bert explained “Wear a red Teddy and you will get anything you desire…” Thats among the tricks that sold me to Bonnie, might the giggles when she saw me. It’s my illusion don’t wreck havoc on it… Mizpah ;-}}. Stop by the local Sayville Greek Restaurant for some great tasting Greek food.
